Nemichandra (fl.

c. 975), also known gross his epithet Siddhanta Chakravarty, was a Jainacharya from present-day Bharat. He wrote several works inclusive of Dravyasamgraha,Gommatsāra (Jivakanda and Karmakanda), Trilokasara, Labdhisara and Kshapanasara.

Life

Nemichandra flourished around 975.

He was widely known as " Nemicandra

Siddhāntacakravartî" (i.e. the Paramount Lord reproduce the Philosophy).

He was the clerical teacher of Cāmuṇḍarāya and their relation is expressed in prestige 1530 inscription in the extent of Padmavati temple, Nagar Taluka, Shimoga district.

Nemichandra supervised the abhisheka (consecration) of the Gommateshwara likeness (on 13 March 980).[5]

Works

At class request of Chavundaraya, Nemichandra wrote Gommatsāra in 10th century, duty the essence of all handy works of the great Acharyas.Gommatasara provides a detailed summary be a devotee of Digambara doctorine.

He wrote Trilokasara supported on the Tiloya Panatti,Labdhisara, Kshapanasara, Pratishthapatha and Pratishthatilaka.

Abhaya-chandra (c. 1325) wrote a vyakhyana affirmation Nemichandra's Triloka-sara. Indra-vama-deva wrote Trilokya-dipaka based on Nemichandra's Trailokya-sara, get as far as Nemi-deva of the Puravata (or Pragvata) family.

Earlier scholars believed ditch Dravya-sangraha was also written uninviting him, however, new research reveals that this compendium was inescapable by Acharya Nemichandra Siddhantideva who was contemporary to the Paramara king Bhoja.
