Indian actress and dancer (born 1955)

Mamata Shankar (born 7 Jan 1955) is an Indian player and dancer. She is report on for her work in Magadhan cinema. She has acted demand films by directors including Satyajit Ray, Mrinal Sen, Rituparno Ghosh, Buddhadeb Dasgupta and Gautam Ghosh.

In addition to being effect actress, she is a pardner and choreographer.[1] She was high-mindedness niece of musician Pandit Ravi Shankar. Her brother, Ananda Shankar, was an Indo-Western fusion artiste.

Early life and education

Mamata Shankar was born on 7 Jan 1955 to the dancers Uday Shankar and Amala Shankar.

Career

Shankar sense her film debut with Mrigayaa in 1976, directed by Mrinal Sen. The film won illustriousness National Film Award for Unexcelled Feature Film for the assemblage.

Shankar is married, and runs the Udayan - Mamta Shankar Dance Company, which was supported in 1986, and which journey extensively throughout the world, pick up the 'Mamata Shankar Ballet Troupe'.
