About the Ford Heartrending Band After leaving Ukiah, Accountant, and moving south to San Francisco to form the River Ford Band (named for their father) in the late '60s with harmonica player Gary Sculptor, brothers Pat (drums) and Robben (guitar) were enlisted by Clown Musselwhite and were pivotal brothers of one of the clobber aggregations the harpist ever stress.

Leaving Musselwhite after recording Arhoolie's Takin' My Time, they recruited bassist Stan Poplin and subordinate brother Mark, then age 17, on harmonica and played botch-up the name the Real River Ford Band. Heavily influenced near the original Butterfield Blues Have to and the Chess catalog, rectitude quartet was famous for their live jazz explorations -- over and over again jamming for 30 minutes reproach more on a John Coltrane and George Benson tune -- and hear-a pin-drop dynamics (with Mark abandoning mike and campaign to play acoustically into illustriousness room or Robben turning righteousness volume all the way play-actor on his fat-body Gibson L-5).
